Claffey’s Teams up with
The Concierge Guild of Seattle and RTS
The Concierge Guild of Seattle (CGS) teamed up once again with RTS in the effort of preserving and revitalizing low-income houses and communities. RTS is the local chapter of the nationwide effort that involves more than 225,000 volunteers repairing over 8,500 homes on one special day. On April 24th, a RTS group organized through Richard Petrone (Pan Pacific Hotel) volunteered to help improve the lives of the less advantaged homeowners by repairing their homes to provide safety, warmth and independence.
Many Thanks to Claffey’s Painting for donating the paint and the man hours that it took to paint the house.
Vine Maple Place
Vine Maple Place is a Christian organization that provides transitional housing and support services to homeless families with children to help them build lives of hope, stability, and greater self-sufficiency. Recognizing the urgent need for affordable housing for homeless parents and children, several Maple Valley churches joined with the community in 2000 to acquire and refurbish four rundown duplexes in Maple Valley and Vine Maple Place was born. They focus on the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of the families here as well as the need for safe, affordable housing.

The Friends of Youth is a local youth services organization that provides enrichment and transitional care to at-risk children. On June 22 2004, Claffey’s painted the Friends of Youth Tree House Foster Home in North Bend, WA. Our crew painted the interior and exterior of this facility and the paint was donated by the Issaquah Sherwin Williams. Friends of Youth does outstanding work and Claffey’s was thrilled to be of service. What a fun way to spend a summer day!

Snoqualmie Ridge
Blitz Build 2001
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, non-denominational housing organization. Since 1976, Habitat has built more than 100,000 houses in 79 countries, including some 30,000 houses across the United States. Homeowner families are chosen according to their need; their ability to repay the no-profit, no-interest mortgage; and their willingness to work. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit. In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their labor–sweat equity–into building their home and the homes of others.
Last year Claffey’s participated in the mighty Habitat “Blitz Build” project at Snoqualmie Ridge. Blitz Build was a project in which 2,500 volunteers gathered over 12 days to build 20 new homes on land donated by Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Company at its Snoqualmie Ridge planned community. Six of Claffey’s painters helped on four homes during two days of the project. We found that the involvement in large-scale, challenging volunteer projects is exactly the kind of charity we love to be a part of!
